Take your cycling to the next level with a 7 day escape to the volcanic island of Tenerife; literally one of the most breath-taking destinations on the planet taking on the high altitude of Mt Teide.
This is your chance to ride with Cyclists-Training-Partner where the aim is to ride and train on iconic climbs, make new friends and take your athletic development to the next level.

New riders will be coached by CTP for the duration of this camp and we will discuss your training requirements at time of booking. You will have access to Training Peaks premium for the trip, full support and guidance throughout to make sure you're getting the most benefit.
From the moment you arrive in Tenerife south airport, riding the roads and relaxing in the luxury villa will be your only full time job for the next week. CTP will provide airport transfers, on bike energy drinks and bars, route guidance and a bespoke training plan for the entirety of the trip.
The aim is to be out on the road with you, completing your daily structured workouts alongside you and enjoy the coffee stops along the way. As you progress, the final aim will be to make it to the top of the National Park where the famous Hotel Parador awaits parallel with high altitude adaptions.
Across 7 days of structured riding with an experienced cycling coach, we will evaluate nutritional intake, build your bike handling skills and demonstrate the importance of adequate recovery. With a progressive approach, we will work right up to completing the most gruelling climb on the island- Sea to summit which accrues 6,912ft of elevation over only 20 miles!
Staying in cycle friendly, comfortable accommodation on the sun-rich south coast will allow you to start and end the day relaxed and motivated. Limitless cycling nutrition is included and stocked up in the villa to take riding with you along with continental breakfast kick-starting your day.

Day 1. (6th): Arrive at Tenerife South Airport, preferably around or before 11:30 a.m. however later transfers will be provided.
It's a short 20 minute drive and for those athletes arriving early enough, we'll set up bikes and have an easy afternoon spin up to San Miguel.
Distance: 25 miles : Elevation 3,000ft : Easy zone 2
Day 2. Vilaflor 2 ways: After a continental breakfast we roll out at 9.00 a.m. for the first full day's ride. Today we'll ride up to Vilaflor twice (1400m) via the Granadilla climb first; a favourite climb and I think you'll see why!. We will regroup and enjoy coffee and lunch in this gateway town then descend to take on the much steeper El Fronton climb to Vilaflor with eye-raising slopes and very changeable gradients. After a further cafe stop we will all descend back down to the south coast.
Distance: 50 miles : Elevation 7,000ft : Easy zone 2 with some optional FTP work
Day 3. 2100m sign: After breakfast we will climb up to Vilaflor via Granadilla. We will grab a coffee stop and continue on, this time going up to altitude and arriving at the iconic 2100m sign. We will regroup here and descend back down to the south coast with the days riding ticked off.
For those who want some additional mileage, there is an option to continue on to the Hotel Parador.
Distance : 55 miles : Elevation 7,500ft : Kitchen sink workout - Vo2 work, FTP work all thrown into one
Day 4. Rest day: The best of the south coast. Enjoy a 60 minute cafe ride and get some calories on board for the upcoming days. Fish and rice is a popular local rest day lunch not to mention the endless cake and ice cream options…… Today can also be spent laying around by the villa pool!
Distance: 15 miles : Elevation 1000ft : Zone 1 recovery
Day 5. Sea to summit: Your challenge is to ride from sea to summit, starting in Los Christianos and going up through Arona, Vilaflor on to the Hotel Parador. We will all regroup and after coffee descend back down to the coast.
There is the option to descend down the north side to Chio and return the same way (Teide Twice in a day) if you'd like to add on an extra few miles
Distance: 70 miles : Elevation 9,000ft : Either tight-chain negative split TT effort for the entirety or broken up into Vo2 max work with endurance
Day 6. The BIG boy - Teide Twice: Today we'll ascend Teide up to 2100m and drop straight down the north side to Chio to enjoy coffee before retracing our tracks and riding back to summit. After achieving this big effort, it’s all downhill back to the comfort of the villa and the satisfaction of a week well spent!
Distance: 82 miles : Elevation 12,500ft : Endurance purely zone 2
Day 7. (13th) Departure: I'll help you pack up your bikes and after breakfast transfer you back to the airport for your flight home.

The trip is for intermediate or above level riders, or those with at least a decent level of fitness. Naturally some riders will be faster than others however your structure will be planned to your individual training zones and you are able to ride at your own speed. This is a chance to grow your own legs at your own pace.
Total cost for the training camp is £675 per person (£625 for current CTP coached athletes). You will also receive a £50 voucher off for future training camps you join me on.
